Praia Grande

Praia Grande has clear, cold waters, where the temperature can reach 8 degrees Celsius at certain times of the year due to the upwelling phenomenon. The sea can become quite rough at times. Therefore, it's ideal for surfing, which is only allowed on days with strong swells, during Holy Week, Christmas, and Carnival (pay attention to the warning flags).

Praia do Forno

Difficult to access and with typical coastal vegetation extending right to the water's edge, Praia do Forno is approximately 500 meters long and has transparent, warm, greenish waters. Protected by Morro do Forno – with its preserved native forest – the cove is suitable for diving and spearfishing. Near the beach, next to the hill, is the Floating Bar, where you can enjoy fresh seafood.

Praia do Farol

Praia do Farol is a paradise and is considered "the most perfect beach in Brazil" - INPE. It is a Biosphere Reserve - UNESCO. It has 1000 meters of extension, large dunes and blue, transparent and cold waters.

Praia Brava

Dangerous for swimming, it's a favorite of surfers and fishermen. Located outside the Pontal do Atalaia hill, this is the only access point. Praia Brava, 200 meters long, only appears at low tide; the view from the top of the hill is frightening, as the beach is completely wild.

Prainhas do Pontal do Atalaia

Prainhas are two beaches separated by a rock that become a single cove when the tide is high. Prainhas has 300 meters of pristine white sand. Access is so remote that seagulls have chosen the location to rest from flying and fish for food. Its view overlooks Farol Island, and its water is so transparent and crystalline that it feels like a swimming pool.

Praia dos Anjos

Located in Enseada dos Anjos, this is the most famous and important beach in the region, due to its immense historical value: in 1503, Amerigo Vespucci landed there, initiating the first settlement in the area and, consequently, the creation of the church where the first mass was celebrated indoors in Brazil. Praia dos Anjos has clear waters and warm temperatures. It is 1000 meters long. It attracts attention due to the coming and going of ships in the port, fishing boats, and pleasure boats. The latter can be rented for excursions, fishing trips, or scuba diving.

Prainha

Upon arriving in the city of Arraial do Cabo, on the left, you'll find the first stunning sight: Prainha. This cove has calm, shallow waters with an impressive color, and from above it's one of the city's most beautiful postcard views. Situated between the Mirante and Forno hills, stretching for 1,000 meters, it boasts crystal-clear, generally warm, light green waters.

Praia do Pontal / Praia do Foguete

Praia do Pontal is located 4 km from the city center, between Foguete Beach and Mirante Hill. Extending for 700 meters, it typically has calm waters, but occasionally the sea becomes rough, attracting surfers who know the area well.

Ilha do Farol

(Hiking, Trail and Diving)

Lighthouse Island is 5 km long with peaks reaching up to 390 meters in altitude. Besides the ruins of the Lighthouse (built in 1833), which gives it its name, it houses the New Lighthouse (built in 1861). A steep trail leads to the ruins of the old lighthouse, through scenery of rare beauty. Access is only by boat. "Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve"

Extractive Reserve

Upwelling is a phenomenon caused by a cold water current originating from the Falkland Islands, which flows at a deep level and, upon reaching the coast of Arraial do Cabo, surfaces due to heating resulting from both the effect of solar rays and the encounter with a warmer water current originating from the north. This current is rich in nutrients, feeding a vast chain of animal life of all kinds, and this fact gives rise to the richness of the marine fauna and flora of the region.
